Sintered wire mesh composite with sintered metal fiber felt

Sintered wire mesh does normally consist of wire cloth (mesh), Dutch weave filter mesh and perforated metal sheet. However metal fiber web ( sintered metal fiber felt) can also be sintered with wire mesh.
Often the sintered metal fiber felt is sintered with single layer of wire mesh ( on one side or both side of the fiber felt). The wire mesh is to strengthen the metal fiber felt while the filter element is cylindrical or disc shape, such as polymer melt filter disc or dedusting filter cartridge.
The filter rating of the wire mesh / cloth is limited to 1 micron nominal due to the mesh structure and pore size. While sintered metal fiber felt can reach 1 micron absolute and higher rating, especially for air / gas filtration[Ref:Bekaert Metal Fiber for Filtration].

The composite is multi-layer wire mesh with the sintered metal fiber felt as the filtration layer. The wire mesh layers can be good support and protection for this super fine metal fiber web. And this composite is excellent applicable for cylindrical filter element , such as cartridges, because it has good self-supporting and enough mass for TIG welding.
